Minutes

  • In Attendance: Dave Tarrant, Nick Humpreys, James Morse, Andrew Willmott, Dave Newman, Jamie Robinson, Kevin Page, Paul Dart.
  • ZeplerNode Update
    • No significant progress this week.
    • Has nocatsplash installed, can't get nocatauth working.
    • Paul will try and put Chillispot, WiFiDog or something similar on it.
  • Removal of SUSU node
    • Paul and Nick were going to remove it at a weekend but one or other of them are busy for the next couple of weekends
    • Dave Tarrant, Jamie and Andrew volunteered to take it down this weekend, day and time dependent on the weather.
    • Need to contact Trevor Spence (SUSU Buildings Manager) to confirm time and date.
  • Return of Buffalo APs
    • Paul has returned them to Shaun Ford and Shaun said there should be no problem returning them and getting a refund.
  • Flash memory of Netgear and DLink
    • The Netgear (WG102) has 32mb Flash and 8mb RAM.
      • Paul soldered a serial port on to try and flash the firmware without success
    • The DLink (DWL-2100AP) has 4mb Flash and 16mb SDRAM.
      • No serial port
      • Paul trying to build own JTag to flash the firmware.
      • Kevin suggested contacted ESD or other electronics research groups to see if they has a JTag cable we could use.
  • Progress of orders for Meraki and SMC? APs.
    • According to Shaun Ford these have both been ordered but may take some time to arrive.
  • AOB
    • Progress on Faraday/Chemistry Node
      • Paul will start work on it to bring it up to the level of the Zepler node.
